Non Violence Film Festival

European Social Forum

STRONG COFFEE will make its European debut at the European Social Forum in Malmö, Sweden on September 21st, 2008 at 4:00 pm at SPEGELN C. More than 20,000 people are expected to participate in the forum, which is a meeting place for social movements in Europe. STRONG COFFEE will be shown at a film seminar organized by Amnesty International Malmö Groups and run by Diana Mulinari, professor in Gender Studies at Lund University who has written extensively on gender and “development” in Latin America and looks at how inequalities are produced and reproduced through social relations of class, “race” /ethnicity, gender and sexuality. Café Femenino Coffee Festival

STRONG COFFEE will be screened at the Bagdad Theater in Portland, Oregon on Thursday, October 16, 2008 as part of a fundraiser to benefit the Café Femenino Foundation. The festivities include a performance by the world renowned guitarist, Alfredo Muro.
